Decriminalizing sex work
After a long wait, the time has come. The hearing for the bill decriminalizing sex work in the District if Columbia is finally here.
However, if you want to express your support, you still have a couple of weeks to do it. The deadline to submit written testimony is November 1st. You can do it here.
Actually, you must do it. If you have been reading us, you probably agree with our advocacy for the rights of sex workers and adult entertainers in general. The DC Decrim Bill is a huge step in the right direction, and we will hopefully be followed by NYC anytime soon.
Besides, it seems to be the right political moment for the DC Decrim Bill. The Democratic Presidential campaign seems to be following the progressive wave from the midterm elections. So far, the candidates with the most progressive agendas are the ones shaping future public policy.
