Max Konnor and Rhyheim Shabazz broke the 300K followers sound barrier in Twitter and I was ready to celebrate. But then The Twitter Blackmailer attacked again.
More than 300K
When we are writing this post, Max and Rhyheim have both surpassed the 300K followers mark. The first one to hit the spot was Max, followed a few days later by Rhyheim. The difference between their followings is statistically insignificant, but Max is clearly ahead by a few thousands.
This advantage will increase for sure during the next few days, given the unfortunate news we will discuss further in this article.
Before diving on the unfortunate, let’s celebrate a major accomplishment of these two Performers of Color. In a market where Black performers are treated as a niche, Max and Rhyheim 300K badge proves they are nothing less than mainstream.
The accomplishment is even more remarkable if we consider that both stars are relatively new in Tweeter. Max opened his profile in October 2017, and is already at a height that took longer to a few others, like Pablo Bravo. I must confess, no one else in my book is even close to 300K.
Needless to say, Rhyheim’s rocketing ascension to celebrity is unprecedented. He has opened his account last February. Even more remarkably, his Twitter was put down by The Blackmailer’s attacks, and he had to rebuild his entire following. Astonishingly, in a few days passed 300K, for moments regaining 25K followers per hour.
A revealing 2019
Soon we will start wrapping up this year. Clearly, it has been a very interesting time in the Pornosphera. The raise of the fans pages has shaken the studios market dominance.
Reaching 300K followers as Max and Rhyheim have, is still a very far away landmark for most American gay porn stars. However, the porn industry has ran under the assumption that Performers of Color were marginal, in a mainstream market dominated by White stars.
As a consequence, countless business decisions were made affecting negatively adult entertainers of Color.
Suddenly, fans pages come up and allow porn consumers to have a direct relationship with porn performers, without the studios intermediation. The 300K mark achieved by Max and Rhyheim questions traditional porn industry assumptions, I would rather say demolishes them.
The Blackmailer attacks again
Unfortunately, bitterness is not alien to our celebration. Both, Max Konnor and Rhyheim Shabazz have been targeted by the Tweeter Blackmailer. Both have and are working together to fight this threat.
Rhyheim is the one who has suffered the most, as his Tweeter has been down several times. Yesterday, a few hours after reaching the 300K mark, the account went own again.
Do not panic. It is my understanding that everything is being worked out by the appropriate channels.
Nevertheless, it is extremely upsetting that Twitter would allow this abuse to continue. Right now, they are being a channel for extortion. Even when I understand they are working on this glitch, it is taking too long.
What makes it even worse, The Blackmailer is abusing copyright protections. He has found a way to turn these protections into the very opposite of what they were created for.
But as I said before, there is nothing we can do other than express our support and call out Twitter failure to stop crime and abuse.
