Best Porn Event 2022: VoyR in Rio
Last Rhyheim’s visit to Rio was the porn industry event of the year. When Big Bro calls, they (we) go )or cum?). The entire production effort has no precedents in the adult entertainment industry; no studios or independent creators can get even close. As part of VoyR’s starter production in October and November, Rhyheim Shabazz took over Rio de Janeiro (once again). He stayed for several weeks, moving from one base to another as porn creators from several countries joined him.
We counted representatives from South Africa, Portugal, Brazil, the United States, Colombia, Mexico, and Japan. They collaborated for almost two months in an effort that could be considered the Best Porn Event of 2022.
We had the privilege of renting our Airbnb on the same building where Rhyheim settled his filming stage for a few weeks. This coincidence provided me with preferential backstage seating. The image above was taken while I was backstage, on a beautiful rooftop apartment with a mini swimming pool.
However, we will focus on a different stage: Casa das Tartarugas. Why? For several reasons: the location is outstanding, the single site summoned a record number of porn performers and creators, and it was the one VoyR event that rocketed the most gossip to the pornosphera.
Casa das Tartarugas
The outstanding location is one of our reasons for choosing the two days in Casa das Tartarugas as the Best Porn Event of 2022. Above, you can see the view from the main terrace. We were there on Day 1 and took many pictures. However, they cannot compete with the library in the place’s Airbnb profile.
The “House of Turtles” is a small hotel built on a cliff, one hour away from Ipanema and Copacabana. Its name comes from an oceanic turtles colony based in the bay. The area is called Guaratiba and includes other famous places like Praia Grumari. The residential complex is in an urbanized zone, surrounded by protected natural lands.
In total, there are eight rooms and ten bathrooms, on four levels. Each room is designed to accommodate two hosts, most times with an outstanding ocean view from a small private balcony. There is permanent staff attending to the kitchen, cleaning, and maintenance. They make you feel welcome and at home.
Rhyheim rented the whole complex for two full days. On Day 1, he allowed the entire day for his guests to create all the porn they wanted for their outlets, all at his expense. Day 2 would be for him. He stayed back in Rio, working with Alternativa and Sir Peter.
An army of hot men
The picture above is from Day 2. We were present on Day 1 of the Porn Event of 2022. On that day, late in the morning, I met with Juninho in Copacabana to share the ride.
At noon, we arrived. The kitchen staff was waiting for us with a delicious homemade lunch and an open full bar. I may forget some of the attendants because the list is long. Besides Juninho, I also saw around: Loc Rios, Grande Simões with his boyfriend Kaleo, Felix Fox, Marcelo Caiazzo, Samuel Hodecker, Icarus, Jin, Kael Fernandes, Victor, Alex Rosso, and Nico Aesthetics. I saw a few more I did not recognize and was not introduced to because they were pretty busy.
Soon, the boys started making different groups and working on pictures and sex scenes. I saw their photo-shot sessions on the terraces and balconies but did not step into the privacy of their rooms for the group sex recordings. At Rhyheim’s expense, I would observe the action from the main terrace drinking my caipirinhas.
For instance, while a group of three was taking pictures on a balcony, and one of two was getting ready on the main terrace for another photo shot, I would have Felix Fox coming breathless from one group sex scene, taking a break sitting with me, and jumping into the next room in a matter of minutes.
Once it got dark, Rhyheim came to say hello, escorted by Elijah and Alternativa. I went back to Rio with them and Nico. Honestly, I do not remember who stayed overnight. I drank too many caipirinhas.
More people arrived for Day 2. It was a gathering with more than 30 porn performers and creators. I remember Carlos Maranhão, Lucas Dias, Markin Wolf, Gael, Jordan, Santana, Jhon Ramos, Levi Junior, and, believe it or not, some more.
Gossip in the Porn Event of 2022
The night before, we were invited to dinner in a restaurant in Ipanema. Sir Peter took the picture above where you see me next to the American porn star. We chatted for a few minutes because I was the only (wanna-be) English speaker at the table until Felix switched his attention to PRK. He was excited about the trip and impressed me as friendly and approachable.
On Day 1, Felix actively participated in several collaborations. And then, Day 2 arrived, and he vanished. The pornosphera airwaves were on fire after the Best Porn Event of 2022. For instance, check this thread. Of course, everyone was asking what happened with Felix Fox.
He had been announcing his trip to Brazil prominently on his social media. He showed up in all videos and pictures shared by the participants on Day 1 of Casa das Tartarugas. However, when Day 2 arrived, there were no traces of Felix’s presence.
We do not know what happened, although the information made public is enough to deduce that whatever happened had nothing to do with studio exclusivity, as the friends in LPSG are guessing. On the one hand, we all can agree that Nichelle Nichols, as Dorinda, looks almost as sexy as Rhyheim. On the other hand, we may disagree, but these excerpts told us that whatever happened had to do with what Rhyheim perceived as a lack of professionalism.

Because all of those reasons, we chose the two days of VoyR at Casa das Tartarugas as the Porn Event of 2022. In only two days, more and better porn came out of that building than in several studios’ entire year of production.
The mainstream industry ignores all this talent. We just witnessed the oblivious GayVN Awards ceremony, and the best porn available is not even mentioned. Instead, it was a celebration of lousy porn and tired names. Perhaps we will write about it if we devote some time to having fun around the worst porn of 2022.
What should I do? Should I keep celebrating the things I liked the most about last year? Should I switch my attention and laugh at the shameful events of 2022? Because we don’t cry, baby.
