We must vote them out. Although we are usually sex-maniac, these days we have other obsessions.
Vote them Out
Never before in my life, I had found a more universal agreement amongst my friends. Trump and his gang (never, never forget he is not alone) are a disgrace for USA and human history and they must go. We all agreed on that. However, not all of us was singing up for “vote them out”.
Of course, Biden-Harris is not a progressive enough formula if you are in the Left. No one argues that. Keep reading if you are one of those, because I do sympathize with you
After a few conversations with my friends, I was able to persuade them to vote them out. In this post I want to share my argument, in case I can also reach out to a few of our readers. I will be brief and straight to the point.
The Revolution is not in the Menu
You are probably sick of the oppression, the exploitation, the violence, the abuse, and all the systemic hate if you are like my friends. I agree with you all, that all must end. We all must do everything we can to end it.
Clearly, voting for Biden-Harris to vote them out will not end any systemic device of capitalist oppression. It is simple. The Revolution is just not in the menu.
However, a regime headed by Biden-Harris and one headed by Trump Pence, are not the same. Although the Revolution is not in the menu, we so have a real choice here.
Will we have more or less pandemic victims if we do not vote them out? Less or more transgender rights, funding for public health and education, environmental protecciones, and women rights?
If Biden-Harris win, will we be closer or further to Christian Theocracy? Will we have more or less resources to fight against White Supremacy, Xenophobia, and Gender Discrimination?
Harris would be the first Vice-President who actually knows what is it to be a Woman and a Person of Color. Although it is not guarantee of real change, it is a promise.
Bottom line, do you want to continue in the defensive, like now? Do you want to keep on fighting to protect the rights we got so far, and losing, like now?
Instead, we can switch to the offensive if we vote them out. We can start recovering the rights we lost during Trump’s dark years, and getting new ones. We can switch from being in the defensive, to be in the offensive.
A Real Choice
Indeed, it is a real choice. Unfortunately, the popular vote is not enough to vote them out. We also need the Electoral College. If you live in a swing state, please go to the polls on Tuesday and cast your ballot for Biden-Harris.
I live in DC, where my vote does not count for the College. However, it is still important to vote in this election. We need a victory as rotund as possible, to make clear our rejection of White Male Supremacy.
I did have the pleasure to vote to have in the City Counsel a Trotskist with a Muslim name. I do confess, it helped me to swallow the bitterness of voting for Biden.
Please, do the same. Find a way to make it less disgusting. But please, this Tuesday do vote them out, and vote for Biden-Harris.
